Life Cylcles -- End of the line?
A frosty winter morning along a tributary of the Frazer River, BC, Canada: various Pacific salmon species leave their final signs of life strewn about.
They have also left behind the ingredients for life to continue. Not only in the form of eggs deposited and fertilized, but as a food source for scavengers with four legs or wings.
Their decomposing bodies also provide a rich nutrient compound back into the soil and river.
