~ Snowboarding Hawaii ~ Mauna Kea volcano, Hawaii

Forest Light Murphy of Kona Hawaii has been snowboarding for 18 years.
He is one of the best snowboarders in Hawaii, here Forest nails a jump at 13,500 elevation on the volcano Mauna Kea.

You must remember that snow deep enough to snowboard on is rare in tropical Hawaii; some years there is not enough at all.

Jade Lee pauses on Top of Mauna Kea volcano, the highest mountain in the world when measured from ocean floor to summit; nearly 33,000 feet. You can see one of the 13 world-class obvsertories that dot the various volcanic cones.

No chair-lifts on this mountain! -- Each run is earned.

#2 --Surfing the reef breaks at the end of the day; Island of Hawaii.
We surf right until it is dark.

~ Sliding through crazy seas on a thin board ~

Hurricane Jova turned aside before reaching the Hawaiian Island shores. Jova’s close visit created some big and wild surfing waves. This guy managed to ride his wave, and then getting his first look at a monster wave behind him~
