Lava tube collapsed under too much pressure then dropped back down and began crusting over as it feeds the molten lava heading to the sea creating the distant plume.

This skylight, or roof window into a lava tube, exposes a tiny bit of a huge river of extreemly hot molten lava rushing toward the ocean a mile away. The slighty different colored yellow streaks reveal the river of lava moving along right to left on its way to the sea.
